Last Year Loves

When it comes to car shows, I am usually only there for the social interaction. I am through and through more into action than standing around in parking lots looking at the same modifications done with subtle differences, sometimes tastefully and sometimes not. I get so bored at car shows or meets. My favorite show I attend would definitely be a larger scale cars and coffee event. They're quick, usually some good content, and typically more local than some larger shows. My favorite event in the area would definitely be Hunt Valley Horsepower Cars & Coffee. They host is Saturday mornings, and it brings in a wide variety but my favorite are the typically older crowd with the exotics or higher end european car variety, not as many typical modified Hondas, Subaru/Mit, etc. Yes I like seeing other Evos, but I love a good variety even more. More often than not at track events I am the sole Evo to show up that day.

Here are some favorites from a few of the shows I had attended last year...

Cars & Coffee, Lehigh Valley, PA

This event is definitely hosted in a awesome location by the steel stacks in Lehigh Valley, PA. They have a different theme each event which is displayed in the main area, and turnout seems to vary. The first show of the season they stopped letting people in before it even started where the last few some of the lots were empty. Nonetheless a great show and Id recommend at least hitting up the first one this season. First event start April 24th, 9am!

Cruise Week, OC, MD

Cruise Week and H2O, both held in Ocean City, Md are probably my favorite events. They provide a little of everything, shows/meets, cruising with a ton of people, friends (new & old), picture opportunities, places to go out at night, and they last a few days so it is like a mini vacation! Bad part: cops.. everywhere!! Pretty much at Cruise Week they pull over for racing and burnouts, H2O they'll get you for any modification and also racing and burnouts. As long as your car isn't noticeably illegal and you don't do anything dumb in front of a cop its a blast of a long weekend! I highly recommend. Cruise Week this year is May 18-22!

Hot Rod Weekend, York, PA

I can't say much about the actual show, but Friday and Saturday nights during the show weekend are popping with cars doing burnouts at every other red light. It's like a super mini local Cruise Week!
