Dream Racing

It's been a boring past couple of months car wise, hence no new posts! However, this past weekend I had signed both my Dad and I up for the Dream Racing Experience for his Christmas present.

I am a fan of Las Vegas. Although, I have yet to be able to convince one of my friend's to visit with me I still have a good time when I go with family, or to visit family, which now live there. There are hundreds of things to do and so many good places to eat that I find it hard not to like Las Vegas, so this Dream Racing was just a new thing to experience!

One thing I really enjoyed about Dream Racing is that they send a van to pick you up on the strip, so there is no need to spend extra money on Uber or a taxi.  The driver and the additional participants made good conversation on the trip over to the Las Vegas Speedway. The one couple with us was from Australia!

You pull up to a line of Dream Racing track cars sitting outside the Dream Racing building in the middle of the Las Vegas Speedway.  The Speedway was buzzing with cars driving around the oval track for a charity day.

After everyone was checked in, they have you watch an educational video and take you over to where the cars you actually get to drive are lined up. They take your picture next to the car you have signed up for (which are amazing quality, I highly recommend purchasing the photo!), and then you get in the car with an instructor to your right. They give you a quick tutorial of the cars general settings and then you head out to the track.  At this point it is very overwhelming with how fast everything is happening, it doesn't give you too much time to get acquainted with the car.

You hit the track, they give you the okay to enter and you're off! The instructor was amazing at this point and a HUGE help! My instructor almost reminded me of an auctioneer with how he rambled off instructions, "brake, downshift, brake hard, turn, turn harder, slight gas, full gas, up shift."  Even at one corner, I must of tapped the brakes around one of the corners because next thing the cars rear starts sliding and my instructor grabs the wheel before I even realized it. In such a fast paced setting, it really helped having a little instruction with a car you are not acquainted with.

Both my Dad and I really enjoyed ourselves during the whole Dream Racing experience. The entire staff was super friendly and knowledgable and the building was setup nicely. The only thing I would recommend to anyone signing up for this experience is to do more than the 5 lap package. It took me about three laps to get used to the car before I started getting the hang of it.  I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone if you're in town, it is quite an experience!

I'll have another fun update soon so be sure to check back! xo
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!!
