Moab Puppy Party Weekend
Twice a year a week long camping event is held by a group of good friends that typically only see each other during these weeks out in Moab, UT. It is known as the Russo Puppy Party. Yes, people bring their dogs to this. My brother and his wife have gone for more than a few years now and I have always wanted to go, and now that I live out here I took advantage of having weekends off during work training and ventured down to Moab last weekend to see what all the hype is about.
It is about a 4 hour drive from Salt Lake City to Dead Horse Point in Moab and I honestly wish it would have been a little longer, it was such a beautiful drive! It was getting dark however by the time we got there though so I guess it doesn't matter.
I haven't been camping in years so I was highly unprepared. My brother lent me a spare tent and sleeping bag and I brought some warm clothes, food, spirits, and teepee. However, I forgot, extra blankets, a cup, and a freaking flashlight. Haha, this was also the first time I had to use my teepee in nature, so that was an experience.
Everyone kind of split up during the day and did as they pleased and then everyone came together at night. Saturday we ventured out for a fun hike. It was definitely a gorgeous hike, but there was quite a bit of traffic, especially of the small child variety. We also couldn't complete the hike due to a ladder with a drop underneath it and not having the proper equipment to pass the dogs over. I would still recommend it however just as a gorgeous site to see.
My brother takes VERY good care of everything he owns so I was super pumped I got him to slide his Tundra TRD Pro around a bit! (I really need to start investing in my lens collection)
Overall it was a fun trip, I am definitely not a fan of camping but I know now what I need next time and I would most likely go again. Hopefully, next time I'll have my own off road vehicle I can explore with as well!
Thanks for reading guys!
