Saturday Morning Rain

Rally Sport Direct has been hosting a weekly Saturday morning Cars & Coffee for a few weeks now that I have been wanting to attend.  I finally had a Saturday morning free so I headed up to West Valley to check out some cars.  However, this Saturday it decided to rain all morning.  From 8:10am to about 8:50am, when I left, the Cars & Coffee was just a handful of cars with their owners sitting in them on their phones.  I was hoping if more people came that we would venture out into the wet parking lot to chat but that didn't happen before I grew too bored to wait any longer.

I've been wanting to play around with my camera in a parking garage for a bit now so instead of just heading home I ventured out downtown not too far away and scouted out a few garages. Thankfully, none of them were charging today. :) Of course the one I had picked didn't have my favorite lighting so I didn't stay long.

There are numerous graffiti walls that I have seen in Salt Lake City with a good bit of them being downtown.  I had passed one when I was scouting parking garages that was on a quiet side street with open spaces so I stopped back there before I headed out.

Although starving at this point, I still wasn't quite done exploring.  I wanted to see if I could find any modern style homes and had remembered a scenic road that I thought may feature some so I headed for that road.  I'm horrible with names and directions, the only way I could really explain as to where a road is to someone is to physically be in the car with them and telling them where to go, I definitely get around based off landmarks.

I find the beginning of the road and I'm pretty sure I went straight at an intersection I was supposed to turn left at because next thing I know I no longer recognize anything.  Not a bad thing though because after a bit of meandering I ended up venturing up Little Cotton Wood Canyon that I have yet to explore and it quickly became my favorite place here.

Every pull off I wanted to swing into to explore and take pictures.  It was so beautiful with so many colors and textures with the weather changing as you zigzag up through the canyon.  It was a fun a drive as well, especially if there would have been no one on the road.  Which with having ski resorts along it is most likely almost impossible.

I am headed out to Las Vegas next weekend and will be spectating at the SW Drift Series Rd 1, so I should have a fun update coming after next weekend!
