A Little Bit Of Luxury
I was talking with my Dad about having a hard time finding vehicles to photograph, since I still don't know many people in Salt Lake City. He was kind enough to offer up his Infiniti QX70 to photograph If I was looking for a different subject than my Evo. He was out of town this week so that provided me the perfect window to take the SUV out and see what I could do with it.
Waking up at 5:30am after only a few hours of sleep, I scurried out of the house heading north in the Infiniti. I had checked out a few locations on Google Maps ahead of time, but the canyon road I was mostly interested in was still closed for Winter. I started to head towards downtown to the second location I had picked but traffic was already pretty heavy with the morning commuters. By this time I have missed the sun rise but it was thankfully overcast so I continued out towards Park City, hoping I could find something off of Route 80. Starting up Route 80 I had remembered a canyon road that branched off that I wanted to check out last time coming back from Park City. I exited and started to explore the canyon road as it started zig zagging up a mountain. I found myself overlooking the canyon at a large pullover at the top.
As soon as I swung the door open I immediately regretted not throwing my winter coat in the Infiniti. It was freezing! I roamed around the vehicle getting some shots while the temperatures continued to drop and it started to snow. Although I kept having to run to the drivers seat to warm up my numb fingers, I was completely in love with the fact that it was snowing. Black cars contrasting in the snow is one of my favorite sights.
When I thought I had gotten all the shots I wanted, I headed back down the mountain to the now sunny Salt Lake City valley. I decided to check out one more road that I thought may also provide some good views. It was a little sunny for my liking, especially with a black car, so I didn't stay too long. None the less, it was a great experience, and one I can add to my portfolio!
Check out the set I got and also check out my new portfolio!
